This jacket is awesome all around. I use this as my everyday winter coat for days when I’m not at work. Great for on the water or on dry land in all conditions. Keeps all the rain and snow out. Velcro still works just as well as when I got it. Word for the wise, when washing this jacket, make sure to close all Velcro tabs otherwise other garments such as hats and gloves will stick to this! I’ve worn just the outer layer on heavy rainy summer days. The only downside is that the hood is non-insulated. It will keep your head dry, but doesn’t offer much for warmth although it will act as a windbreaker for your head. Lastly, the drawstrings on the hood are a bit clumsy to secure them. Other than that, solid product! 4 out of 5 stars in my opinion. As newcomers to the Pacific Northwest (transplanted from SoCal), my husband and I were severely lacking in the cold-weather rain gear department. My husband needed a waterproof coat to walk our 2-year-old Pit mix every morning. The zip-out liner works nicely as a standalone jacket, providing good warmth and wind protection when it's not raining. Combined with the waterproof shell, this setup is pretty hardy. The outer chest pocket on the shell sports a rugged waterproof zipper, but I was a bit disappointed to see that the lower slash pockets have only one snap each to close them. The closures should keep items secured, but we'll have to see how well this design will keep moisture out of the pockets.Do note that the Squamish outer shell does not have venting zippers in the arm pits -- I know that some folks really like those (the similar This is a nice enough jacket, but really nothing all that special. I bought it sight unseen and was expecting a little more from a brand like HH. I think this is an older version of the Squamish jacket because the HH website advertises a fleece liner- this is just a mini puff style liner. No vents, no zipper pulls, there is no way to secure the hood down, and the velcro isn't particularly heavy duty. So three stars is fair and I wouldn't pay full retail for this version.Negativity aside the jacket is somewhat warm and seems to be made constructed well. It is made in Vietnam if you care about origin. The deep steel color is probably more accurately called "navy blue" and the liner is "highlighter yellow/green". I'm a tall and skinny guy (39" chest, 5'10", longish arms) and medium fits nice and snug with just enough room for layering. I like the fit because it does not puff out even without using the waist draw string cords. The sleeves could be 1" longer... but my wrists stay covered unless I'm really stretching out. The jacket is made well enough that I would take it snowboarding if I didn't already have a dedicated shell.I paid $129 which I consider a good price for what you get. Anything over $150 and I'd pass.UPDATE: It's really not as warm as I originally thought. The liner has synthetic insulation that doesn't do as much as I'd like. Additionally the waterproofing is what I'd call dubious. I walked my dog in a moderate rain and it wetted out pretty quick. I'd spend a little more coin if you really need to be warm and dry.Very well built jacket that is surprisingly warm for as light as it is. I live in the northern part of the US and it kept me warm all winter and dry. I took this on a long trip to EU and it packs nicely taking up little space. I have received some compliments on the look of it as well. This is a very good jacket that I would buy again.I am a 200+ lbs weight lifter with a thick back and shoulders and the XL fit well on me. Some other XL's do not give me enough room across the back but this does not have that issue.it is a great jacket. it is warm and keeps you dry. the only part is that in the underarm/bicep area it is snug. it is not as bad without the inner jacket in. it also says in the description that it is fleece for the inner jacket and it is not. it is a puffy style inner jacket which makes it warm. and it is not the real thick puffy style it is thin but the insulation they use primaloft is awesome. It could be a nice jacket but is poorly designed hood don’t detach Velcro around wrist don’t close tightly Velcro down the front should be snaps update as of April 4, 2022 this jacket could not be a Helly Hansen a real piece of garbage pockets on the inside puffer useless cannot put anything in because they are cut too low and everything just falls right out cheaper Hanson labels come off after a few uses a outside jacket the hood really sucks it don’t come off and very hard to adjust this is definitely not Helly Hanson Quality it’s like a disgrace to put their name on such a poorly designed and poorly made coatExcellent. Fits perfectly - I wear a medium. I have been able to wear it in temperatures between 55 and 10 Fahrenheit. It’s also a very comfortable jacket. I ride the train to work each day and sometimes I sit in the train, with the jacket zipped up. The hood fits very well too: both with a hat on and without. I have had issues with hoods on other jackets being either too big or too small, but this hood fits perfectly.I have had this jacket for a while. Looks sharp and fits nice. My daughter just had a soccer game and it was pouring rain the whole game. This jacket kept my entire upper body dry. Can’t say the same for my jeans. The cuffs are a little wide for my liking but not a big deal. Overall a great rain coat. Many many years ago I bought a Helly Hanson Jacket in TKMaxx. It was warm, comfortable and lasted years of wearing. This jacket is similar. The outer jacket is made of a high quality material that simply repels water but feels soft to wear. The inner jacket is of a slippery, shiny material, rather than the usual fleece. It's very warm but easy to take on and off as the arms don't drag on the sleeves of your clothes when you put it on. It looks OK worn by itself but you probably won't want to use it as evening wear.Join the two together and you have a really nice winter coat, which is suitable for walking and hiking, but I feel quite happy to wear to work and down the shops.Highly recommended.Love this jacket. At last good pull cords for hood adjustment. Too tight with lining in and why oh why the the slanted pockets with a stud to fumble with. Awful. Please replace with proper deep square upright pockets with flap and it would be perfect.Fantastic coat, soooooo comfortable and looks and feels great. Really well designed but despite photos, if you like labels not all are white.Great price at £100+Oh, why is Wright in lbs!? %##%^& Americans! I'm 11 1/2 stone 5'10"Excellent jacket, fits well and is very light to wear. Recommend it for general use as it is completely waterproof.Jacket is perfect for wind and rain. When temperature is about -5 to -10 degree it is a bit cold with it.May be with additional warmer fleece will be fine.
