I’m a huge fan of Arteryx products. I have their Kyanite fleece and Atom jacket which are my two favorite pieces of clothing I’ve ever owned. So perhaps my standards were too high because the Delta was a letdown. The quality of the fabric is what you would expect for something available at your typical big box clothing store. It’s scratchy, thin, and just not something that feels like it will hold up over time. Something That would probably last 1-2 years before it’s worn out with moderate use. The stitching is also subpar for an item of this price range. I uploaded a photo for reference but the collar doesn’t line up. It doesn’t look like it’s off too much, but the error becomes exaggerated the further it moves towards the shoulder to the point where the collarbone seam doesn’t lay symmetrical on both sides. Again, not the kind of thing you expect from Arcteryx.I looked at the manufacturing country for the Delta and it’s Indonesia. My other two jackets that are amazing were made in El Salvador. I’m not saying there’s different quality controls in these facilities but you might have better luck if you stick with garments made in El Salvador. In terms of fit, I’m 6’3” and about 180lbs. I have longer arms and a torso with no belly. So I often struggle in finding clothes that fit because I’m a Large in arm length and a Medium in the chest. Arcteryx is one of the few brands that have longer sleeves for the medium size. The medium reaches past my watch and hugs my torso. The Delta is slightly baggy in the chest compared to the Kyanite but still fits well. The athletic cut is also nice because it fits close to your armpits. When you reach your arms above your head, it doesn’t pull the rest of the jacket up with it.Overall I would not recommend this jacket based on the quality of the fabric relative to the price. Even if the seams were stitched well, it wouldn’t be worth over $100 to me.If you haven’t tried an Arcteryx item yet and have a similar build as me, go for it! It’s honestly such a wonderful experience to have a piece of clothing feel tailor made for your body type. You forget you’re wearing it.Lastly, I hope anyone reading this review feels loved by someone in their life. This may sound weird but I’m incredibly grateful you exist and sharing the planet with me. If you feel like you don’t matter, know that you matter to me.I’ve been using this on my hiking trips for rain gear primarily, but also pair it with a fleece for added insulation. Definitely keeps you dry. I love it. The chest pocket is plenty sufficient on a backpacking trip, as I don’t have tolerance for full pockets when I’m on the move, and have a pack on my back for storage. I’ve never had put zips in a jacket, so maybe I just don’t know what I’m missing in that department. I’d rather have less weight. It’s stylish enough for town also. The construction seems proficient. I hope it holds up for years to come.Got this as a gift for my hubby and he absolutely loves it. He is a huge fan and collector of Arc’teryx and he loves both the look of this jacket as well as the versatility. It doesn’t really function as a “jacket” but is good as a mid or base layer & he’s also worn it as an outer layer while snowboarding on warmer days. He wears it casually all the time as well as out on the Mountain in both winter and spring conditions. Highly recommend!Very good in both aspectswalk outside, light and durable so far!Spouse and I each have a couple of these in different colors. They are a nice looking, very light, warm, adult-looking warm-up/sweater. Love that they have zippered pockets (easily hold phone). Quality is high. Wash well. Fold up well for carry-ons.The fabric is good quality, but the cut is terrible like most Arcteryx stuff. Sleeves are ok for a tall athletic build, but it's to short overall. Barely below the belt. Not sure it's usable. On product photos looks proportionate but in reality sleeves are MUCH longer than jacket body. Not sure why they thought it's a good idea, and i't not a mistake since I got another color same time and it's same problem. And the PARADIGM color is nothing like online, it BRIGHT ! Almost neon bright teal. This is a high-quality fleece jacket with better than average insulation for thickness/weight. It doesn't take much space in your luggage/backpack but can keep you keep warm for activity in freezing temperatures when combined with a good base layer and a lightweight outer layer like Arc'teryx Atom LT Jacket.I went hiking with this through both Winter and Spring, then I carried it through to May as a simple option should the weather cool while out. It's lightweight, breathable, easy to slip on or off, looks good enough to wear around town, and it's the only insulating layer I carried (bar a rain jacket) since mid April once the Sun decided to make an appearance. If you only want to pick a single fleece layer, and you have a good breathable insulating jacket (I have the Atom LT from same brand), the Delta LT would be my recommendation. They are warm enough down to 0 deg celcius assuming a good skin layer (e.g. 200g merino wool).A heavier fleece would be overkill, an option only for sub-zero temperatures or for days where it's just cold enough for a heavy fleece without a jacket, and the wind is near zero, unlikely scenarios in my part of the world. I do have the heavier fleece - it's nice to have just in case, but I just never needed it this year.An excellent fleece jacket that will quickly become a year around presence in your hiking/walking pack, right there with your light rainjacket. And yes, it packs down to a relatively small size compared to a heavier fleece. I use a drawstring bag to keep it tidy. *****
