My wife used these on a recent trip to Canada and Alaska. They're lightweight for easy packing and work great when you need them. Plus she's petite and these were one of the few brands that fit her well.Waterproof, well-made, and nice fit. Worth the moneyPurchased these for our NZ vacation - which included several multi-day hikes. With polypro tights underneath, these Berghaus Deluge rain pants kept us dry and comfortable for days. They're easy to move in - while climbing up steep, rocky inclines - and the side vents/zippers offered extra breathability. For ~$35, they're a great deal! For your core, however, you really need a high quality Gore-Tex jacket to keep you dry and warm in torrential conditions like we experienced (we rented jackets from the NZ hiking tour company). But the Deluge Rain Pants were simply perfect for our legs!Purchased these rain pants for a week at on a school camping trip that, unfortunately, has rain in the forecast. I wasn't sure if I would be a small or medium, so I ordered both with the intention of returning the size that doesn't fit. I am generally a small in most articles of clothing (5'9", 140 lbs). Both the small and medium were surprisingly narrow through the waist, but the small was just too snug around the seat. I would recommend sizing up from the size that you normally wear. The waist was small enough, but the rest of the pants are oversized. Also, not waterproof. My boyfriend bought a pair which I borrow for work since my size was not really any smaller except for the waist and when it rains my legs are wet. Very wet. So... Cannot recommend as rain pants, but decent windbreakers. They fit great. I used them in cold weather and they worked ok in Colorado at 50 degrees. They are on the thin side but I’ll use them daily this winter. I live in Southern California so cold is 40* - 70* to me. I did buy thicker socks for the days I was going out in the snow. These work great. I work outdoors in a logyard in OREGON and these have not failed and are great quality.Great fit comfortable and light weight waterproofworked well snowshoeing and other cold where other activitiesI bought these for dog walking. Highly waterproof, they not only keep you bone dry during a standard UK winter (so that's lots of torrential downpours if this year's anything to go by), but they also protect your clothing from muddy dog paws etc. I am a size 10-12 (UK) and purchased the size 12 (on the basis that I wanted to be able to slip them on and off over my standard clothing). If anything, they are still on the large size and so I would definitely recommend buying your normal size rather than trying to over-compensate. There are no pockets which is a bit annoying, but there are zips at the side... it took me ages to figure out what they were for (and I note that other reviewers had the same issue and seem to think that these are there if you want to 'cool down')... the zips are in fact positioned so that you can easily access the pockets of your trousers beneath these waterproof trousers. I am personally really pleased with my purchase - they do the job that I intended them to do (keep me dry) but if you are uncomfortable going out looking as though you've wrapped yourself up in a bin bag, you might want to look for a slightly more flattering/stylish alternative.Bought for dog handling as my other more expensive waterproof trousers had started leaking. These are good and true to size. I bought a size 8 and they fit over my other trousers without being too tight. I like the slim leg at the bottom, no-one needs a flared trouser leg flapping around. I always order short length so there’s less to get wet on the ground too. It’s lost one star on my review as there’s no access to pockets once on - some have slits at the hip so you can still use the pockets of your underneath trousers - you can’t in these which is a negative. And there’s no hanging hook - I use the elastic toggle waist adjuster on the side to hang them up to dry. This is the 2nd pair of these trousers.Initially I loved them so when my 1st pair developed holes I thought 'unlucky' and ordered another pair. The 2nd pair have done exactly the same, in the same place. It seems the action of simply walking wears away at the seams very quickly. I only wear them when it's raining so haven't lasted very long at allNot happy considering the price!!!The double zips confused me at first and I thought the zipper had bust! I realise now that this is so they can be zipped open if you get too warm. Easy to slip on over your jeans and not lose your dignity in the car park prior to a rainy dog walk. Wore them during a deluge and they kept my jeans completely dry and my legs warm. Added advantage of keeping your clothes clean from mud splashes and mucky dog paws. Fantastic trousers, wish I'd found them years ago. Great value on Amazon too.I ordered these recently for a friend. It arrived very quickly with Amazon Prime. The waist size (12 - equivalent to Mens medium) and leg length (short, a size which is hard to come by in shops) was as described, and the quality is good, the garment is equivalent to the Mens version I purchased a few years ago which are still going strong and still waterproof. These trousers have two ways zips, so you can unzip from the top down a bit to introduce ventilation, and this also allows you access to any pockets in the trousers you may be wearing underneath. They can be unzipped almost all the way from the bottom to the top of your leg to make it easy to get them on or off. They have got studs all the way up the storm flaps, which is better than velcro in my opinion. My friend says they are the correct size for her, and that they are reasonably comfortable, allowing movement of the legs while on hill walks.I gave them 1 star for "flattering" because they are not a fashion item, just functional. They are not stretchy overall but do have an elasticated waist band.
